Electrolysis

Electrolysis

electrolysis

Electrolysis is a method of permanent hair removal that safely eliminates unwanted hair from the chin, lip, eyebrows and all other areas of the body. It can be used on any skin type and targets all pigments of hair especially shades of red, blonde, grey and white. Electrolysis targets only the hairs requiring treatment.

A sterilized probe is inserted into individual hair follicles while a small current is applied causing destruction of the growing portion of the hair follicle so it can no longer produce a new hair. The destroyed hair is then removed with tweezers.

The number of sessions needed varies from person to person. Treatment times are scheduled at 15, 30,45 and 60 minute intervals.

what will it feel like?

The insertion of the probe into the natural opening of the hair follicle will be painless. Once the probe is in place the current will be released. Your tolerance level and the sensitivity of the area being treated will determine the sensation. Clients with low pain thresholds have options to make the treatments more comfortable such as applying a numbing cream 60 minutes before your treatment time.

what causes hair growth?

Unwanted hair growth is usually caused by one of the three general categories.

  • Congenital; genetic hair patterns we come into the world with.
  • Systemic; caused by hormonal changes and glandular problems.
  • Topical; caused by temporary methods of hair removal such as tweezing and irritation to the skin.
